Y5 Live It Up in Liverpool!
Y5 had the most amazing time in Liverpool on Wednesday. Starting out at the Museum of Liverpool, they learnt about the fantastic number of famous people who call Liverpool home. They saw how Liverpool has been used as a film location for major Hollywood blockbusters and has been at the heart of the music scene since the 1960s. They then also revelled in the sporting success Liverpudlains have enjoyed over the years.
After a picnic lunch at the Pier Head, we moved on to one of Liverpool's most iconic buildings - the Royal Liver Building, where we took part in a 360' tour. This meant we not only watched a fantastic film show, depicting Liverpool through the centuries but also got to see the mechanism of the enormous clock faces (bigger than Big Ben!) Finally, we were able to make it to the very top ie the 15th floor and were able to enjoy amazing views across the whole city, over the River Mersey and all the way to the Welsh hills.
It was a truly special day and one we'll never forget!
